Why you need to Pray? Matthew 26:41 (NLT) Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!” Many of us are familiar with this verse from the gospel of Matthew when Jesus told the disciples to stay up and pray with Him but they kept falling asleep. Jesus knew that it was important for them to spend time in prayer because of what they were up against and what was coming. I love this scripture because it shows how important it is to pray especially in trying times. The scripture says to keep watch and pray, so it tells us to be vigilant and to be aware. When we don’t pray our spirit is weak and we can are vulnerable. In other words, stay awake and be of a sober mind. It is important for us to pray so God can strengthen our spirit and keep us so we do not give in to temptation. It is easy to fall into temptation when we are distracted.
